John has positioned himself to meet your needs as a licensed real estate agent, licensed auctioneer, and a notary public. As a real estate broker, John’s specialties include the auction method of marketing and the proven ability to sell your home in 45 days! John has knowledge of historic home marketing, poultry and hobby farm marketing, residential homes, land acreage and lot sales including waterfront and golf course properties. John’s credentials include being Ringmaster Certified through the Florida Auctioneer Academy, is an AIA PACC Certified Personal Property Appraiser specializing in household contents, antiques, and collectibles. He is also a Strategic Pricing Specialist, At Home with Diversity trained, and Short Sale Foreclosure Resource Specialist, among many other yearly trainings in real estate.
John has been successful in the world of business during his career within telecommunications, hospitality, real estate, auction marketing, entertainment, and the food service industries, managing business to business sales. He has a proven track record in working with people and understanding them to meet their needs. As a teacher of entrepreneurship and owner of several small businesses, he will negotiate to find the best deal possible. He has done volunteer work for the Boy Scouts of America, served in church ministry, been a member of the Fountain Inn Election Commission, worked in the NC prison system, and is currently an Iredell County notary public.
As a notary public, John’s specialties include real estate and automotive title work from his experience in the field of auction marketing. John holds a Master of Arts in History with emphasis in Public History. In 2006, he graduated from The Allen Tate School of Real Estate and specializes in residential homes, rural agriculture properties, lots and historic homes. To further enhance his services in 2008, he graduated from the Carolina Auction Academy which instructs students to utilize the time tested method of selling assets using the auction method of marketing. In 2012, John graduated from The Asheford Institute of Antiques as a PACC Certified Personal Property Appraiser with specialties in general antiques and household goods.
Being a Certified Ringmaster from Florida Auctioneer Academy, John has experience as a ring-man, bid spotter, contract bid caller, clerk and cashier as well as auction setup. As a licensed auctioneer, John has vast experience in managing live online auction sales such as simulcast, contract bid calling, bid spotting. He has experience working as a ring man, auction clerk, auction cashier, automotive block clerk, auction transport driver, and auction setup and marketer.
John is a licensed Real Estate Broker (BIC) License # 249807 in North Carolina and an a Licensed Auctioneer License #8664 in North Carolina as well as an AIA PACC Certified Personal Property Appraiser.
John hails from New York State and has endured many moves. He grew up in New Jersey, was stationed in Texas in the Air Force, and has lived in Wisconsin, South Carolina, and North Carolina. John understands what it takes to relocate to a new area, establish a new home, and start a new job. Father to his son Noah and Married to Sherry, they currently reside in west Iredell where they proudly serves portions of Iredell, Alexander, Catawba, and Rowan counties. John has cemented his education and holds an MBA with a graduate certificate in Marketing. In addition, he also holds a Master of Arts in Public History specializing in museum studies and collections. He graduated from Allen Tate School of Real Estate, Carolina Auction Academy and Asheford Institute of Antique Studies.
Sherry Williams is the wife of John Palinkas and is a co-founder of Red Suit Realty & Auction. She currently serves as the company’s General Manager. She is an NC licensed auctioneer and a graduate from the Missouri School of Auctioneering. She is currently enrolled in the Asheford Institute of Antiques. Before joining the auction world, Sherry served 25 years and retired as the Director of School Nutrition for Alexander County Schools. She holds a BS in Foods and Nutrition from Appalachian State University. Sherry also manages Classic Claus LLC, a seasonal sister company of RedSuit Realty & Auction.
